Many of you know that I'm in a play, Pure as the Driven Snow. That play is ending this weekend and I have many mixed feelings. First I'm excited to have date night back with Conan and also I'm excited to have weekend nights back to do what ever I want, (usually nothing except for our date night). Second I'm a little sad because I'm just now getting to the point where I don't feel like I'm going to pass out from being scared out of my mind with stage fright, and I'm enjoying my little part and adding little things that are a lot of fun. Third, I've met a few people that I will truly miss and will probably not keep in contact with because we our in different stages in our life. This has probably been the coolest thing I've accomplished in a really long time. I really enjoy acting and will probably do it again. Thanks to everyone who has encouraged me to do this and has stood by while I vented about the things that go on in the theater.

Mommy Woes

I was talking to a friend who has 4 kids the other day, and she was saying how she is always yelling at her kids especially the older 2. But when somebody asked her 8 yr old what his mother means to him his response was, "My mom is never mean to me." She was so surprised and it made her realize that in the time that we have our children there are very few years we have with them before they really do start thinking that we are mean and don't understand anything. We should love our children for making silly mistakes for being too emotional for silly things like they didn't get as much ice cream as the other person or what ever the case might be. Or for getting into make-up, coloring on the carpet with non-washable markers, eating your mothers day chocolates, or cutting their own hair. I've been having a hard time with this lately and it's nice to be put in my place by another mother going through the same things, because we do only have them when they are little for such a short time. I need to relax and enjoy them for who they are. Now for a happy moment from Madelyn. She has been having nightmares lately and last night when we were saying prayers she said that she wanted to thank Heavenly Father for laying down with her last night when she had a bad dream. I asked her if he does that all of the time and she said that he did. Kids are the best! They give me gray hairs and stress and pimples but they also give me great laugh lines!

Happy Birthday Sarah!!!!!!!

Sarah just celebrated here big 33rd birthday on Friday. It was so much fun. She is so thankful to everyone for their thoughtfulness for remembering her. She looks so good for being a year older. We had a humungous and delicious cheesecake from cosco to celebrate the occasion. She blew out all the candles on the first try so all her wishes will be coming true. Getting out of the play that night to go out and do something fun was not an option so the whole family took her out to lunch at roadhouse grill instead. The cast of the play even surprised her with a chocolate cake and sang happy birthday to her.

Tag from Heather...THANKS!

I've been Tagged!

Ok so never been "Tagged" before so I'm assuming that I need to answer these super fun questions. While normally these things kind of bug me cause they always have the same questions. This one is different and I'm excited to answer them. So here it goes.....

1. Typically what time do you wake up? Somewhere between 6am and 7:30am....8 on a good morning.

2. On a good night what time are your kids in bed? On a good night 8pm, but mostly around 9pm.

3. How long have you been a mom? 8 years.

4. How old were you when you became a mom? 25, seemed old at the time, now it seems really young.

5. What is your favorite cartoon show? Charlie and Lola on Disney. I love their accents.

6. What is your least favorite cartoon show? Fairly Odd Parents

7. What is your favorite meal to cook? Anything new...I get bored cooking the same things over and over again.

8. What meal do you make most? I make a lot of pasta...maybe lasagna.

9. What is your kids favorite meal? Bailee surprise (pasta corn cheese and tomato sauce) and of course the cursed McDonalds Happy Meals...yuck...but so convenient.

10. What is your favorite thing your husband does with the kids? He takes them to Home Depot and Lowes for their kids craft Saturdays, then takes them to the library.

11. What are 5 things about being a mom that makes you smile? 1. When they say, with out any encouraging, I love you so so much. 2. That first smile. 3. Morning snuggling. 4. The 1st drawing just for you. 5. When they are old enough to babysit. (I can dream can't I)

12. What is your favorite chore? calling the house keeper. (another dream). None of them!

13. If you could take your kids anywhere where would that be? Probably a Mexican vacation and swim with the dolphins.

14. When was the last time you went out with your kids? Saturday, went to lunch for Bailee's Baptism.

15. What is your favorite past time with your kids? Going on walks on the trail and reading books before bed.

16. Name one thing you said you would never do as a parent? I said that I would never spank my children. And, well.....who hasn't at one time?

17. What is your favorite quality your mom has? She loves helping others. And puts others before herself.

18. What is your advise to new mothers? Remember that you are their mom and you do what is best, not what other people think is best. Also sleep, sleep, sleep don't worry about chores.

19. What is your most heartbreaking moment as a mom? I think it would have to be when Maddi got a UTI that turned into a kidney infection. I didn't take her in cause I thought that she was just being a stinker and peeing her pants all of the time. Yep total loser mom! She was so sick.

20. Most joyful moment of being a mom? Each time I gave birth to a healthy normal baby. What a relief.
Now I tag Megan! Good Luck!

Kite flying

One Sunday afternoon, it was rainy, sunny and windy perfect for flying kites. The kids got kites for Easter and they had so much fun flying them. Although I'm not sure who had the better time, the kids or us.

We did get it caught in a few trees and on the roof a couple of times but that is why dad's are so handy. Check out the pictures they are pretty fun.

Sunny Day!

It is always rainy and cloudy in Oregon in the winter and spring. So when there is a nice day everyone is out side. Maddi and Sam had a good time picking flowers for me and digging for worms. Samuel didn't really like the taste of dirt but he sure enjoyed getting dirty.
